Accomplishment in the field of HIV/AIDS
Arlette Pearce was among the first set of technologists trained in Guyana in Flow Cytometry and tested 80% of the first 2000 CD4 samples assayed in Guyana. She established and documented a working quality control program and participated in proficiency testing for both UK Neqas and QASI (Health Canada) with excellent results. She also participated in the development of CD4 reference range for adults in Guyana.


Job Details
She provides quality assurance in the daily activities of the CD4 laboratory. This includes maintaining quality control, evaluating test results, maintaining records of reagents, computing statistics and providing bench training for medical technologists.

Education
Diploma in Medical Technology (Microbiology major)
