The Guyana Society for the Blind recently completed an HIV/AIDS workshop to promote a greater understanding of the virus and disease by its members and their families.
The workshop was held under the theme, “seniors twinning in the fight against HIV/AIDS in their community” April 26 and 27 at the society’s headquarters.
Coordinator for the programme, society Vice-President Jeanette Jordan said that its chief objective was to have older people help educate their family members and especially younger people in their communities.
It also offered the participants a better understanding of STIs and HIV/AIDS. Joan Stuart from the South Road Health Clinic and Sherlock Mark Rose from the GRPA conducted the workshop.
