EMPLOYEES of Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB) participated in a recent HIV/AIDS peer educators workshop at Cheddi Jagan Research Centre, in Kingston, Georgetown.

The 20 participants attended the programme which is a collaborative effort of GRDB and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

The topics discussed were knowledge of HIV/AIDS, its impact in the workplace and policies there, the related stigma and discrimination and other problems.

Following that exercise, a follow-up was hosted yesterday at the GRDB Cowan Street, Kingston Head Office.

GRDB Communication Officer, Mr. Brushell Blackman said the process will continue to educate and inform the workers on issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.

General Manager, Mr. Jagnarine Singh commented that a lot can be done at the place of employment to help in the prevention and spread of the pandemic.

He exhorted the beneficiary employees to share the information gained with others.
